Q: Do You Accept My Insurance?
There’s a good chance we accept your insurance, because we work with most PPOs and other traditional insurance plans, including Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, United Healthcare, and many others. We are happy to file claims on your behalf.
We also have numerous payment options for those who don’t have insurance or for services not covered by insurance. For example, we offer a monthly payment plan for Invisalign treatment. Ask a member of our staff about our dental discount plan!
Q: Am I a Candidate for Dental Implants?
You most likely are! Dr. Cary Shatto will evaluate you and help determine the number and type of dental implants that will work best for your tooth replacement needs. Depending on the complexity of your case, he’ll place the implants in your jaw or refer you to an oral surgeon. When the implants are fully healed, you’ll be able to get the appropriate dental restoration(s): a dental crown, dental bridge, or dentures. You may even be a candidate to get your implants and replacement teeth all in the same day.
Q: Do You Treat Sleep Apnea?
Yes! Dr. Shatto will help you get a home sleep apnea test, if needed. If results indicate you have apnea, he can fit you for a custom-made sleep apnea appliance. The appliance gently positions your jaw to keep your airway open as you sleep, so your slumber won’t be interrupted. Because you’ll rest better, without breathing interruptions, you’ll feel better and have more energy. Even more important, you’ll be less likely to suffer from systemic conditions linked to this sleep disorder.
Q: Is It Bad If My Gums Bleed?
Bleeding gums is almost always a sign of gum disease. Left untreated, gum disease can cause damage to the roots of your teeth and the underlying bone which leads to tooth loss. Chronic gum disease has also been linked with potentially serious health conditions. Don’t take chances with your teeth and your health. Schedule an appointment for a cleaning and examination today.
Q: Can You Straighten Teeth Without Braces?
There is more than one way to straighten your teeth. Patients of American Family Dental are happy to know that we can use Invisalign to move teeth into a more appropriate position. Unlike traditional metal braces, Invisalign doesn’t use any fixed appliances or metal of any kind. The plastic aligners fit perfectly over your teeth.
As an added bonus, Invisalign trays are virtually invisible and the treatment takes only about 12 to 18 months.
