Dr. Cary A. Shatto
Dr. Cary A. Shatto grew up a native Texan. He was born in Houston but also lived in the Dallas area as well as the south Texas valley. Enduring family hardships as a youth he became a ward of the state of Texas and was raised in a boys home where he was instilled values of discipline, responsibility and ambition. During these years he excelled in areas of sports, agriculture and academics. As a result he earned scholarships after graduating from La Porte High School in the Houston area. This enabled him to attain a bachelor’s degree from Baylor University which was a stepping stone to successfully fulfilling his dream as a dental professional from Baylor College of Dentistry in 1992.
Dr. Shatto believes in the philosophy of the complete dental health model where there is an oral systemic connection or in other words a direct correlation between the mouth and how it effects overall health of the body. Eradicating harmful bacteria caused from gum disease and decay are just part of the equation. Straightening crooked teeth is not only a cosmetic reward but more importantly aids in the reduction of bacterial hiding places. Even replacing missing teeth with dental implants or fixed bridges is important in digestive chewing efficiency and keeps teeth from separating leading to food impaction. Lastly the breathing airway from your mouth to your body has been highly overlooked as it relates to sleep because the sleep apnea/snoring epidemic is slowly killing many Americans. Dr. Shatto’s philosophy of the complete dental health model is important to him and his team for the well being and quality of life for his patients.
After many years of practice Dr. Shatto has the experience and expertise in providing comprehensive dental care, orthodontics, implantology, cosmetics and sleep treatment in a caring, comfortable and friendly atmosphere. Compassion and understanding are staples in his office.
Dr. Shatto is married to his supportive wife Angela and has three beautiful daughters Shea, Maddi and Jillian. He enjoys movies, tennis, basketball, travel, adventure, dogs and his family life.
